Recent changes to USMARC bibliographic records incorporate RDA tags. MARC records imported from MARC record supplier/s in MARC 21 format and MARC records imported from MARC record supplier/s via a Z39.50 enabled source, may contain RDA tags. MARC records pre-dating RDA from the same supplier/s may not be retrospectively tagged for RDA by those suppliers and/or may continue to deliver AACR2 tags.

Should modifications be required, these should be undertaken by a MARC cataloguer with suitable experience and competence with RDA prior to importing MARC records. This configuration page contains numerous links to allow an editor to seek further guidance and clarification about RDA and its implementation. While these mappings are easily modified and extended, only experienced and competent MARC cataloguers should make changes or extend the default settings.
