Supported Reading Schemes

  • Renaissance Accelerated Reader
  • Scholastic Learning Zone
  • Custom Grading

Renaissance Accelerated Reader

Infiniti supports Renaissance Accelerated Reader (AR) by utilising data prepared and distributed by Renaissance. The data files are geographically oriented to international education regions - US, Canada, UK, and Australia. Schools synchronise their catalogue on demand with the respective data file for their region. When your school first starts using AR and subsequently after adding new bibliographic records to your catalogue, your catalogue is resynchronised with its AR regional data file.

Go to: Configure > Integration > Reading Schemes

  1. Set Reading Scheme Enabled to.
  2. With Grading System - select (ATOS) Accelerated Reader.
  3. Data Import via Vendor API must display ON. Note: This is non-editable is set to ON by contacting Infiniti Help Desk for instructions.
  4. Preferred Guidance:
    1. Librarian - the reading level, interest level, and points manually uploaded by the librarian will be displayed for books on search results. Note: If this preference is chosen then the librarian determines the reading level, interest level, and points for each title and must upload these values for all titles they wish to reclassify, otherwise the vendor-supplied reading level, interest level, and points will be displayed on search results.
    2. Vendor - the reading level, interest level, and points supplied by the vendor will be displayed for books on search results. Note: If this preference is chosen then the librarian does not need to upload any data because vendor-supplied reading level, interest level, and points will be displayed on search results.
Note: Reading level values include reading level and interest level which can be tailored by the librarian and imported via a CSV file.
  5. Product - this value is determined by Accelerated Reader.
  6. Set Precision match preference:
    • ISBNs - tag by ISBN only.
    • ISBNs or main Title/Author - tag by ISBN or Title+Author combination. Note: This option uses fuzzy logic to determine a match with AR data for bibliographic records that do not have an ISBN and generally results in more matches than an ISBN only match. It is useful if your books have not been catalogued with ISBN.
  7. Switch Show Points In OPAC toif required.
  8. Switch Show Interest Level In OPAC - if required.
  9. to save changes.

Note: This button displays only for Accelerated Reader and only after you have fully configured your account.
  12. The reload process will be transferred to the Task Manager and scheduled to run overnight.
