You can choose to automate email communication for loan overdue notices, reservation notices, and supplier orders.


Infiniti provides circulation communication scenarios where each communication scenario is 'Used by' one or more email templates containing an appropriate message and information to support that communication scenario. Each message is sent to one or more possible communication contacts, configured by you to meet your library's requirements.

Optionally Set up Reservations

  1. Reservations Ready For Pickup -to automatically email patrons when their reservations are ready, thenexclude specific patron groups if required.
  2. Expiring Reservations -to automatically email patrons when their reservations are about to expire, thenexclude specific patron groups if required.
  3. Expired Reservations -to automatically email patrons when their reservations have expired, thenexclude specific patron groups if required.
  4. Cancelled Reservations -to automatically email patrons when their reservations have been cancelled, thenexclude specific patron groups if required.

Set up Loan Overdue Notices

Pre-overdue Notice
  1. Pre-overdue Notice -to automatically email patrons a number of days prior to their due date. Note: A low number of days from 1 to 3 will produce best results.
  2. - exclude specific patron groups if required.
  3. In the Excluding these Academic Levels panel Available list select academic levels that should not be excluded from receiving these emails.
  4. In the Excluding these Library Groups panel Available list select library groups that should not be excluded from receiving these emails.
  5. when you are finished.

Loans Overdue

  1. Loans overdue Notice -to automatically email patrons immediately one or more of their loans become overdue. Note: Overdue checks are done post midnight.
  2. Choose the frequency:
    1. daily,
    2. weekly (set day of week), or
    3. monthly (set day in month where 31 will be the last day of the month).
  3. - set up exclusions.
  4. In the Excluding these Academic Levels panel Available list select academic levels to should not be excluded from receiving these emails.
  5. In the Excluding these Library Groups panel Available list select library groups to should not be excluded from receiving these emails.

Escalation Notices

An escalation notice is a notice that can be sent with an increasingly more severe or demanding message tone after a loan has become increasingly overdue. Escalation messages can be sent to one or more of the contacts that have been set up for a patron.

Loans Overdue - Escalation #1

  1. Loans Overdue - Escalation #1 -to automatically email patrons with escalation notice #1 if one of their loans becomes overdue by the days overdue number.
  2. - set up exclusions for escalation #1.
  3. In the Excluding these Academic Levels panel Available list select academic levels to should not be excluded from receiving these emails.
  4. In the Excluding these Library Groups panel Available list select library groups to should not be excluded from receiving these emails.

When all changes have been made, to store all changes.

Note: A patron with multiple overdue loans will always receive the highest escalation message applicable to the most overdue loan.
